BALTHVS - Primeur 2025

A brilliant, special cuvée based entirely on old-vine Merlot, the 2025 Château De Reignac Balthus is absolutely sensational and possibly the finest vintage of this cuvée I've tasted. Black cherries, graphite, crushed stone, and lead pencil notes all define the bouquet, and on the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a pure, concentrated, layered mouthfeel, building tannins, and a great finish. It shows the structured, serious style of the vintage while still delivering beautiful fruit, depth, and texture. This is an extraordinary barrel sample from Bordeaux Supérieur that's being raised in French oak for up to 18 months
